Metaframe & Acrobat & Printing

Configuration :
Metaframe 1.8 Windows NT4 TSE SP6a
Client NT4 SP6a / Win2000 Pro Sp2
Client ICA 6.20.986

Problem :
An ERP Software (JDE. Jde Edouard) generates a PDF file which is open via Acrobat Reader 5.5. All client that want to print this file receive an error : No default printer !

When you went in the page setup of Acrobat, the printer is present (Network connection).

We are obliged to delete :

Nt account
Home dir
Profile

Then to recreate them and all is ok !

Any idea ?

That's a driver error. ¿HP Laserjet printer slave? Mapping to HP LJ 4L.

Another printer... i don`t know.

When this happens, have you checked that the spool.exe service is still running ? It can happen, especially on Metaframe 1.8 servers with NT4, that the printerspooler will crash. Users are not able then to print to the default printer. When the spooler is started again then the printers are back. Mostly this happens if you have a def printerdriver. Check your printerdriver versions with the HP site (or other vendorsite) to see if you have the latest version.
