I'm a novice in this OS. The OS I am using is HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/782. At least, this is what shows up when I login to root. Yesterday, I installed GOLDQPK11i_B.11.11.0312.4.depot (only the GOLDAPPS... portion of it). During installation, a few of the packages were missing (don't know why), so I skipped them. Now, the OS is a mess. The XWindows does not start, and there are other problems. Is there any way to back this out, or is there any other bundle I can install on top of this to go back to what I had? I'm probably not giving you enough information, but whatever help I can get, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi,

If you have backup kernel file then no problem.

Boot system with this backup kernel file and

try to reinstall or uninstall the packages that gives the problem.

Please take a backup of kernel , before doing any activity that going modify your kernel datastructure.

dude,

reboot with your previous kernell

interrupt BCH 10 seconds delay

at the BCH prompt type bo to boot

then at the ISL prompt type yes.

ISL>hpux /stand/vmunix.prev

this will load the kernell before the upgrade.

peace
