Messaging waiting light problem

Hi

I have a 3903 phone whose Message waiting light does not light up when a message is waiting in the mailbox.

How do I accomplish troubleshooting or setting this up??

Please note that I do not know how to use the Meridian so any help with the programming will be much appreciated.

I am using Octel Voicemail with the Meridian Option 11c, I believe it is Release 13.

make sure you have MWA (message waiting allowed) in the CLS (class of service).

You can see MWA on the second line in CLS. If it is MWD, then do the following:

then you need to go into voicemail and see where the mw lite is flag to lite

check the mb.. you might want to try a mik mck key on your phone, that will let you light a lamp on any phone, and you'l know if the problem is in the octal or the nortel.. mwa and a mwk xxxx key is all you need, you can printthe tne and soemone will look at it for you

we use octel and i checked the configuration and it is exactly the same as all the other phones where the message light is working.

When the phone rings the message light also flickers so i know there is nothing wrong with the LED.

Any other suggestions ??

how can i check the mb ??
How can do the mik mck key on the phone?? could you please advice on the syntax to do that.

as per my earlier post the lamp lights up when the phone is ringing but not when there is a message waiting.

key xx MIK. Press this key, then dial the ext you want to turn on the light for, and press MIK key again. This will turn on the light for a particular ext.

key xx MCK. Press this key, then dial the ext you want to turn off the light for, and press MCK again. This will turn off the light for a particular ext.

You can set the MIK/MCK keys on your own phone and try turning on the light for this particular mailbox.
