I have just installed a call recording system on a OPT61c to record all calls going to a specific department within the company.
The company has a calpilot but this department is not announce to the public, however the customer wants a message to be heard whenever these extensions are dialed notifying the users that the call is being recorded

Can this be done and if so how

You would have to point each ext to Cp play the greeting and then re-point it back to the phone. Its pain in the @ss but possible.

StoneColdphoneman thanks for the response

What would I need to do to get this done.Any guidance will be appreciated.

I've done a similar thing using his method.

You have to take all the published/known numbers for the users in that department and point them to menu/announcements that speak the "being recorded" message as you wish to say it.

Since you have assigned all new numbers to those users - the menu/announcement default transfers to the users new numbers.

So, like this:

Caller dials --> published/listed user number --> gets menu/announcement --> then mail system default transfers to --> users "real" (new) number.

GHTROUT,

I present the above solution to the customer and they agreed, but could you break down the exact steps to get this implemented.I am a little new to this side of thing.

Any help or documentation will be appreciated

Both StoneColdphoneman and I had the same idea. I's like to defer this to someone more experienced with Call Pilot. They will be able to tell from our posts.

I did the same thing by using IDC enrties in LD.49.
Change each incoming DID number to a phantom, then DCFW to Call Pilot. Make a anouncement for each number with the default number being their real DID number.

You hit right on Phoneman, that's how the new FAX Solution is set up in Call Pilot
