Message waiting notification stops when exchange email server updates and reboots

Running IPO 500v2 6.1.16 with VM Pro VM Pro is set up with integration to Exchange server 2007. The exchange server has to run windows updates, (I don't know why, but IT says it does...) Everytime it reboots after an update, the VM Pro stops all message notifications. Lights do not come on with new messages, and the VM to Email stops. Then, if we restart the VM Pro server (Running on Virtual server 2003,) we get the flood of emails and notifications. The VM works otherwise - all mailboxes, greetings, menus etc.

We get no errors in the server event log, and no services stop running.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

Disable the automatic updates on your exchange server and have the notification reflect that there are updates available instead then do all your updates manually instead of automatic and this will solve the problem

That doesn't solve the problem. There has to be a trigger for the sync. There has to be a way to power cycle the exchange server (or if there is a power outage, and reboots,) and have the sync restart without having to restart the VM server. Every time there is a network issue, they lose the sync.

What triggers the sync? There has to be a service that runs that triggers the sync, and I can use that service to make sure it stays up.

I have the same issue on a 7.0 system with UMS and have not found a solution.. Saw some links about IIS setting but have not found everything definate..

Would be interested in a better solution that rebooting VM pro..
