Message Waiting Lights Do Not Light 5

Have a Merlin Legend V7 with a Merlin Messaging. When a message is left in the voice mail box of any extension, It fails to light up the MWI. The system config is as follows:

0) Legend Processor
1) 008 MLX
2) 008 MLX
3) 800 GS/LS-ID
4) 100 DCD
5) Merlin Messaging

Any Ideas??

Set the MESSAGING EXTENSIONS to be ROTARY ENABLED.

That should fix it.

Just cut-over a Messaging R1 and have been fighting this myself for the morning.

Any idea why Rotary Enabled does it?

Yes, 'cause in the old days (Pre-Magix) there were some issues with people not ordering enough touch tone receives, thus the mail would not work.

To get around that, they had the messaging dial with rotary dialing, rather than touch tones.

However, there was also the issue of Single Line sets, with rotary being able to dial 1167 and emulate *67, thus bypassing TOLL Restrictions, so they turned rotary off as a default.

Therefore, you gotta' turn it on.
