I've a 3300MXe running 7.1.
For one reason or another message notification is not working... for the IPphone config'd (type 5212) the VMbox is set to extension, notification set to outside phone and mobile number digits (with extra 0 for outside line), email notification is also configured, this does work. I also tried to config an internal ipphone (also non hotdesking) to be messaging receiver but this also doesnot work. Further, I've tried to set the VMbox type to tranfer only and alternatively notification to extension when internal number being used. All to no avail.
The type 5212 can ring the mobile and internal number direct so routing / CoR are not the problem. CoS for the phone is correctly set for messaging options.

Has anybody come across any similar issues regarding message notification? I would appreciate any feedback.

Regards.

can a phone configured with the same COS and COR of the voicemail ports make the same call?

Make sure that message is not getting deleted after forwarding to email.

Thanks for the updates.
Whilst running a CCS trace I get no output from diag, yet if for eg, i ring the mobile direct from the same handset (so nothing to do with VM or message forwarding) the CCS trace pumps output to diag and the call is processed.
It seems the PBX is simply dropping or not knowing how to handle the flow.
Slapin - do you mean check the vmbox of the phone to see if the msg remains? I'll check it on Monday. Good question...

My earlier post was regarding changing an extension to the same COS and COR as the voicemail and trying to make the notification call. This will prove whether the VM ports are capable of making the call if they are instructed to do so.

Have you tested this?

kwbMitel is right. Notifications calls have nothing to do with calls from the extension because calls are originated from VM ports not from the extension. Consider VM ports as an extension sitting inside the box which has it's own COS/COR and could be resticted.

LeroyC,

I seem to be having the same issue as you, minus the email notification. I've checked everything that the above posts mention, I can confirm that the VM ports can make calls out as I've tested a working IP set with the VM COR. I'm testing with sending the notification to another extension right now, and it doesn't appear to be working.

If I set the type to Telephone, speedcall to my cell phone, I can see my 1 new message sitting in the mailbox, MWL turns on @ the set, but I see nothing being dialed out of the switch (telnet to smdr). Shouldn't I at least see a VM port trying to dial out?

I'm nice and green to Mitel, so any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

In your VOICE MAIL OPTIONS ASSIGNMENT form:
Do you have SEND NOTIFICATION CALLS set to YES?

Also in the mailbox, the mailbox needs to have message notification set to TELEPHONE with the number = ARS LEADING DIGIT + NUMBER.

Also set USER ACCESS to ENABLED and I would recommend AROUND THE CLOCK.

I was helping with this yesterday

All Voicemail ports enabled
All ports in Hunt group
All ports set to primary greeting set 1
Notification Enabled
COS and COR allow outbound calls
Notification type Telephone
Number - 9+7 digits (Can be dialed from any phone)

Also tried speed call number
Also tried calling internal Extension

Notification never takes place.

I'm out of ideas
