Trying to integrate 3rd party voice mail with Triad 2. Can't turn on lamps. Lamps were working on previous mail. No change to telephone type.

When connecting to triad via rs 232 programming port display says
100 Digital Hybrid Key System
Eng Ver.3.10-3FE1 Does this info give processor version?

In docs I see code 420 and ext number should turn on lamp
421 and ext number turns it off. Is this feature/dial code valid for this processor version? Any other thoughts?

If you can enter these codes from a regular keyset and see if it lights a message waiting light on a phone and then enter a code to turn the light off, then the code should be put into your message light off/on string in third party voicemail system and work fine.

We all need a little help once in awhile. Tony the Phoneman..

You could also clip your test set in parallel on the voicemail port that activates lights and listen - making sure VM is dialing the required digits (digit grabber works great here). Also, make sure that the voicemail ports are assigned to a voicemail group - some versions only allow members of a voicemail group activate/deactivate MW lights.

Thanks for info. It turns out that the MWL are working for the digital sets but not for single line 90v sets connected to SLIB. I can manually turn on/off the lamps successfully on the digital sets with the 420-421 code with test set connected to the voice mail group SLIB port. But same procedure does not work on the single line sets.

All SLIB boards had the daughter cards and lamps were working with previous mail which died in power event. Tested on various SLIB boards all unsuccessful. Had suggestion that ring generator (or less likely the power supply) may be damaged enough from surge to allow ringing but not MWL updates. I hear constant clicking noise also. Does this sound plausible?
