Message Indicator Light Not Working

Hello, I have an issue with the message waiting indicator light.
I checked the CLS and the mailbox on call pilot. I am stumped at the issue.

The light was working before. I created a new phone new did and new voicemail account and it did not work.

I even copied a user's phone that did have a working indicator light. However it still didnt work to light the persons phone.

We swapped phones and the phyiscal phone lights just not on the TN that it was residing on(the phone prevously lite the indicator the past 6 years). And no major patches installs or upgrades on either the PBX or the Call Pilot have been done for over a year.

For ease of trouble shooting, add these keys to your phone to light and extinguish light on sets that you need to test. Easier than leaving test messages.

I would but I am not on the same PBX. I can put it on the phone where the other tech is at and see if that works.
 
If your PBX's are networked, you should be able to light the remote site.

They are not each site is seperate just in case one fails the other 20 dont go down.

I had the tech try the MIK key now even after the message light is on and messages are checked the red indicator light stays on. Should the light only go on when a message is there then go out once the messages are checked?
The MIK and MCK do the correct function. However, when I have the site person do MCK it doesnt show any messages even though there are ones left and the MsgInd lights but stays lit after messages are retrieved.
 
If I understand this correct you went from no indicator then to one that now wont go out? If you do the MIK from a phone then you have to follow that up with the MCK to turn it off.

I will test with the site person tomorrow. When I tested my PBX here (since we are seperate systems but same model).

I did the MCK and the light went out. Then I did MIK and the indicator lit. Also, his issue is when he checks after doing MIK key, the light doesnt go out after he checks messages.

Mine however lights and goes out after using MIK on my phone here.

We are both on EM 7.6 and call pilot 5.0. So I find it odd his has a big hiccup that is now creating an issue.
 
MIK key turns on the light
MCK key turns off the light

If you light the light with the MIK key then just by checking messages will not turn the light out. This is only a test procedure to verify the light is working, and it sounds like it is. So you have a voice mail issue.
 
Do you have the affected extension defined in the MWI field in the call Pilot?

YIKES! Thats what I was thinking. My next step was to remove the mailbox and add it back. But I now dont think that will even work.

Maybe reboot the call pilot server remotely.
 
Also make sure the affected DN does not appear on another phone.
 
I don't think you need to reboot if it's only happening on one phone.

It is happening on 2 phones. I sent the information to our vendor and they suggested a reboot. They saw errrors on the Call Pilot when I sent the logs to them.

If a Call Pilot doesn't have errors then it's probably not turned on, good luck, let us know what you find.

The reboot worked the voice message indicator light is now working properly.
