Hi,
I am reasonably new to bcm 400 and have an issue with my bcm400 3.7. We have a hunt group setup and all members forward messages correctly onto the correct overflow and busy dn when hunt group number is dialed.

I am trying to make the members in the hunt group when dialed directly from outside go to another dn after 4 rings but the call rings on that dn and then bounces back to the original phones own voicemail. I have the target dn set to go to to 3750 so people can record a voice message but it bounces back to the voice mail on the number that the caller originally dialed. Is there something basic here i have missed here.
Thanks kindly for any help
Daniel

It is called forward no answer in capabilities in set programing. This is where you put in where to forward the call after so many rings. But if you do that the only way the phone can get a voice mail is a VM transfer.

Hi Cook,

Thanks for your post, I have the call forward no answer set in all the dns that I want to forward onto the other voicemail. The phone i want to take the messages is dn3552. i have the other phones set to forward no answer to and forward on busy to 3552. If you ring one of the phone directly it will ring first on its handset, then it will start ringing on the 3552. Then it will go back to the voicemail on the original phone not the 3552. What is the voicemail transfer you mentioned that sounds like it is what i need.
Thanks again
Daniel

It is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. if you want 3552 to take the messages, then you need to remove the mailbox that is associated with the other extension and put that extension as an alternate line on mailbox 3552.

Hi MagnaRGP,

Can i do that for all the phones that are in that hunt group what is the limit of alernate lines I can assign for 3552. There are only 6 phones in this huntgroup.
thanks
Daniel

Put the hunt group dn in the alternate line field in the mb for 3552.

Hi,
Thanks for the info, I added the persons number to the alternative extension of 3552 and that works a treat. If i add the dn of the hunt group it does not work and just redirects back to our main reception mailbox.
The hunt group works ok with the overflow dn as 3552 when people dial the hunt group number. I just wanted to forward the other numbers so when people dial those numbers directly (they are already known by clients) it redirects to the 3552 mailbox. I notice there are only 2 extra extensions that you can add in call pilot so most probably can't do it for the rest of the numbers or is that why you advised putting the hunt group dn in as the additional extension in 3552?
regards
Daniel

That was why I said to add the HG DN.

Ver 4.0 expands the alternate extensions to a larger number (i think it's 8).
