I'm running Exchange 5.5 on NT 4.0. Lately, messages being sent out are being delayed and sitting in the MTA Queue. I noticed in the Event Viewer the following error messages:

1456 Association Recovery failed.

9322 An interface error has occurred. An MtaBindBack over RPC has failed.

9260 An internal MTA error occurred. A locality table Index is not in use.

Then, there are many messages from Directory Services. What is that?

This is also happenning to me. have you found out the answer by chance? I am being driven mad by it!!

Well, I applied Service Pack 6a and that seemed to fix the problem. I also recently replaced my server so of course that definitely solved the problem. I hope this helps!

I installed Service Pack 6a for NT 4.0, then installed Exchange Service Pack 4.
