Does the Merlin phone system have a music-on-hold port for connection to a low level audio output for music-on-hold and or promotion-on-hold? Does it require any additional hardware?

The Merlin Legend and Merlin Magix use a telephone line port programmed as MOH. You then need the associated MOH Adaptor between the line port and the music source.

Thanks Telecomboy.

Do you have any technical documentation on the MOH installation?

I don't think there was any documentation specific to the MOH feature. The Feature Reference Guide contains information on how to program it.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

To program a line port: Menu, System Program, Exit/Start, Aux Equipment, Music on Hold, then dial the line number and enter, exit to exit.

If you do a search for Merlin Legend Music coupler you will find the MOH adaptor you will need as well.

I am new to this but our Avaya Merlin Magix has a port (RCA Jack) that says MOH (it is right above a jack that says Paging). Do I need to still purchase a coupler to use this or can I just plug in a music source, program and be on my way?

Thanks for any assistance!

You don't have a Merlin, but most likely a Partner (the button labels on the phones might say Merlin ETR in the upper corner, because the phones can be used on either system.)

So, in your case, no, just plug into the RCA jack, and in programming #602 turns it off or on (on by default) and #614 sets the volume)

I think that maybe TouchToneTommy may be right, it might not be a Merlin Magix system even though their are 2 large Merlin Magix units on the wall. Out phones say Axxess by Inter-Tel. I am trying to contact the person who installed the system to find out and I just heard that their was a software program that will let me configure the system.

Thanks all for your help!!!

The company probably purchased the Axxess and replaced the Magix with it.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
