What version of Merlin Messaging do you have? Only the ones capable of being administered via the LAN connection (R2.0 and above) can have recorded greetings, announcements, etc. uploaded via microphone connected to a PC. The files, however, are really not wave files - but Brooktrout's proprietary encoding. So - I am not aware that you can just upload WAV files as your AA greeting. I know you can backup the entire messaging system's contents to a PC - including greetings, announcements, recorded menus, voicemail box contents, etc - but I still believe the sound files are NOT in WAV format. By using "Unified Messaging" - you can get email versions of your voicemail messages in WAV format sent to your email inbox - but that's about the only WAV output I am aware of. You can upload WAV files via a radioshack interface through your telephone handset - but that's all I am aware of.
Actually, the Auto Attendant, Submenu, and Announcements ARE .wav files. The format is "GSM 6.10,8,000 Hz, Mono"
Once you are logged in via the GUI, go to the Auto Attendant, click on the recording, and it will play on your PC. You then have the option to save it to your hard drive, or import another file and send that to the Messaging.
Save a recording, then open it in an audio editor, so that you can be sure of the format. Then you can make your recordings in the same format and be able to upload them.
Merlin Messaging R.2.0.20
We interface with MM thru hyperterminal & RS232.
Can't seem to locate any option which takes me to AutoAtt so we could upload professional greetings.
Is AA upload option only available thru a different access route?
TIA,
Annie
Thanks, TTT - am set up thru GUI and am stuck. No option to "play" the recorded Auto Atten greeting. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly?
TIA
Annie
