Merlin Messaging upgrade vm ports 4 to 12

Hello everyone/
been working on Merlins and Partners since 2000/
i am upgrading the M M vm ports from 4 to 12 ports/
i know i will have to add ports to Calling group and rotary enable/
what i am not sure about is, do i need to back up programming to my laptop considering the pcmcia lic card is what saves the programming when backing up and that is what i am replacing/
i appreciate your assistance/

good to backup every chance you get. the pc card only holds the port count and the last backup that was done. you should of course do a backup to the new card once it is installed.

so is it as simple as powering down, putting in new lic card, powering back up, & adding additional vm ports to vm c grp/
So all mbox info, greetings, announcements, and all other recordings are held on the module's harddrive and should still be there when powered back up? Correct?
