I'm a newby to the merlin, but had a customer call us asking how to externally forward a phone? They want to forward calls ringing on an extension out to a cell phone. My guess was press fwd then 9 and the number but it wont take the 9. It only takes the 3 digit extension.

With Magix, you need to allow the extension Remote Call Forward priviledges through Winspm or the main console. Otherwise, as you discovered, it will not allow you to enter a full telephone number.

It is the main console they wish to forward. Is that an easy thing to program thru the console.

Menu, System Program, Start, Extensions, More, Remote Forward, RCF Extensions, dial the extension number, Enter

Then Forward, 9, the telephone number, #

also - when you are testing, the forward light will go on and stay green when you hit the #. Always a good sign...
