How do you program an ext so that you don't need to dial the 9 to get an outside line? Line won't need internal access as it's an analog line that will only be calling outisde lines. Thanks

1) Assign Line Pool to the Extension (Ext Lines/Trunks)

2) Under Centrl Programming Set that button to no ring &

3) Press the button again, Dial *14, Press the button again and then press ENTER.

That should do it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "set that button"

I'm using winSPM 8. I did the first step on adding ext to lines and trunks.. I think. I went to extensions - lines trunks and added my ext to lines 1-20.

When I go into cntrl-prg I'm unclear on how I assign the button to a no ring &. I'm assuming the button I'm assigning is the sysAcc ring I button.

Thanks for the reply.

No, not really.

When you assigned ALL THE LINES to the extension, you basically assigned a POOL BUTTON to the extension, which will be JUST 1 BUTTON.

So, when, under Centrl Prog, you look at the ext, you will see a SINGLE BUTTON that is LIT UP RED (as in it will ring).

If (at that time) you touch that button, you will see the display say "70 Pool - I".

WHICH MEANS, you assigned the 70 (Main) Pool to that button, and it is set for IMMEDIATE RING.

So, as stated before, you need to (1) turn the ringing off (*35) and (2) Make AUTO LINE SELECT pick that button AS THE FIRST CHOICE. (As per your original request)

That's where the *14 stuff comes in.

IF you can not make work, re-post.

I was able to get the extension on no ring, but it made the extension completely dead. I think the reason why these instructions may not be working is because we are using PRI, so the 70 Pool - I does not show up on the button. It shows -N and the red light is no longer on. So when I try to use the auto select I have nothing to select.

Press that button anyway. It is still your Pool 70 button until you unassign it under extension>lines&trunks. Once you press the (non-lit) pool-70-N button do the *14 steps that Merlinman stated. Now when you go off hook on this device you have told it to select the pool button, you will be given the next idle line in that pool and have the ability to place your call.

My button does not have the pool-70 in it. Only the -N When I attempt to do the auto line select I have nothing to choose. I tried typing in 1 and 01, but that didn't help.

As for extensions/lines&trunks.. I don't believe it's allowing me to do anything as it's defaulting to lines 01-20.

I went into quick tools and looked at the telephone restrictions. the extension was unrestricted. It didn't have a pool dial code so I tried putting in 70, but that didn't help. the button still only shows "SysAcc -N" The line is not giving me anything at the moment.

Well perhaps we are not looking at the correct pool.

70 is what most folks assign, but perhaps you are using another one.

Can you print your Line Info and see what pool is the main one?

Either way, you should be able to just touch 1 of the Lines in the Pool in an Extension /Line & Trunk session and assign all lines of that pool to the phone.

Once that's done, you should be able to set that button with AUTO LINE SELECT (*14) and dial out w/o dialing 9.

I do it all the time.

Can you PRINT the extension and Post it here?

Lines 809 to 833 Are in Pool 891, as is Line 854.

Lines 834 to 853 are in Pool 895, as is Line 855.

Your Extension, 188, has NO POOLS ASSIGNED to it as was suggested in our first post.

If a pool was assigned, your print out would look like this:

A Button 6 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 5 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 4 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 3 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 2 70 Pool -N
A Button 1 *16 SysAcc Ring -N Status None

Make it look like the above, and you problem will be solved.

But Merlin Man, there is no pool 70, according to the General Trunk Information printout above.

So wouldn't frood need to assign 891 or 895 to the single line extension, then make that pool be the auto line select?

Yes, TTT is right, it should look like this:

A Button 6 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 5 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 4 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 3 *21 Blank Status None
A Button 2 891 Pool -N (Or 895, what ever you use)
A Button 1 *16 SysAcc Ring -N Status None

Make it look like the above, and you problem will be solved.
