is there a way to set up a pc to the smdr port to run a trunk usage report

Plug in a laptop and it will spew the buffered results of the last 200? entries. You cannot, however, request a specific report, it just dumps out standard SMDR data. For trunk usage, hit up the LEC providing service to the site.

You can - however - modify the SMDR settings under System Program, Start, Options, SMDR. You can change it from the Basic report to ISDN, set the minimum call length of a recorded call, set other parameters as well.
