HI, ONE CLIENT WHANTS A CORDLESS PHONE FOR MERLIN MAGIX (3810), I ALREADY BUYED, IT NOT WORKS BECAUSE THE RELEASE OF THE PROCESOR IS R1.0, I FOUND ANOTHER PROCESOR R5.0, I TRY TO DO A PRINT WITH THE WIN SPM AND SHOW A COMMUNICATION ERROR, I VERIFY THE CABLE AND THE WINSPM WITH ANOTHER SYSTEM R1.0 AND IT WORKS OK, THE ACTUAL PROCESOR IT PRESENT A ERROR (RED ON, I VERIFY IN THE CONSOLE AND HAVE A PERMANENT ERROR (POOL M-BUSY EXCEEDS 50%) SLOT 00 PORT 02,03 COUNT 001,002 CODE 1C01...TRANSIENT ERRORS (POOL BUSY &/0R 00S) SLOT PORT 002,06,03 COUNT 002,001,004 CODE 4C03, I TRY TO MAKE A DEMAND TEST OF THE PROCESOR THEN PEEK AND SLOT 00 AND APEARS ENTER HEX ADDRESS....DID SOME NOWS WHAT I CAN DO? I SUPPOSED TO DO A TRHU BACKUP BEFORE I CAN CHANGE THE RELEASE AND THEN CONVERT THE BACK UP UPGRADE AND THEN RESTORE...IS THAT OK?

Hi Tim, thats means this errors apears when in a pool... one, two or three lines dont work by the provider(telmex) if i find the lines that are not used and erased from the pool the errors its gone disappear....where i can find the meaning of the errors of the procesor...
The problem that i can not read by the admin port...can i try by enter trhu the internal modem of the procesor to read and make a print to help me to program the new procesor...

they used few pools because they have multiple locations and they have routers to used private lines to this locations...

I have a known-working set of cables, laptop and software. Yet I too get a "communication error" at one of my customer's sites. I can clear every alarm and make all but the permanent error go away (which is enough to make the red light on the Processor extinguish).

In both my case and yours, the only thing that I can conclude is that something is physically broken with the Processor's console port. Though not reported as an error, if I can't connect to it as I can every other machine, then it IS clearly broken.

Not everything that breaks is reported as an error in the log.

Unless you want to reprogram everything "from scratch", I'd simply replace the Processor with the same software revision. Actually if there's nothing else wrong with it, I'd just plug my modem into an analog extension port and dial in THAT way (it's what I do with my customer that has the same problem).

The other thing about installing a Non-International version of the software is potential compatibility issues. Personally, I'd go for it. But I'd heard that the U.S. version doesn't support BRI and that things like loop-start disconnect and switchook flash are different in Mexico than they are in the rest of North American. I think that was probably true at one time--and still may be true in some parts down there. Though limited, my experience in Mexico leads me to believe that the big companies like TelMex use signaling standards that are so similar to ours that I doubt say, installing a Magix R4V7 would be a problem. But I've been wrong before.

OK. BY STEPS...
1.- I NEED TO FIND A PHYSICAL PROBLEM IN THE ADMIN PORT(BECAUSE THE CABLE, SOFTWARE AND LAPTOP ARE OK, I ALREADY TESTED WITH ANOTHER SYSTEM WITH THE SAME PROCESOR VERSION)
2.- IF I CANT FIND THE PROBLEM I NEED TO TRY THE WAY YOU TELL ME WITH THE MODEM TRHU A ANALOG PORT...CAN YOU TELL ME MORE DETALLS ABOUT THIS WAY... BECAUSE IN SOME TRAINING SESION THEY GIVE ME INFORMATION...BUT I CANT REMEMNBER ALL

WHEN I GET COMMUNICATION WE CONTINUE...ITS THAT OK.

THANKS.

I replied to Enrique's (INSECOM's) personal email with help on setting up WinSPM modem access and a hand with remote access (should the customer have DID service).

Obviously those things can't be covered here in a public forum. But he or I will be sure to post back with a resolution. My guess is that the other forms of access aren't available and that replacement of the Processor will be his best option.

Stay tuned...
