I have a general question on the configuration of a Magix system with standard LS lines. There is no centralized attendant on the system and I have configures the Magix in the Hybrid/PBX mode. The user desires all phones to ring for incoming calls, and he wishes to control outbound calling, as well as to present users with a uniform dialing plan. The dial plan forced 10-digits dialing for all calls, local and LD. Therefore, the system had to be configured in the PBX mode using the ARS. I used digit insertion for the toll prefix where necessary. I prevented users from dialing the toll prefix by using a disallow list. As for incoming calls, since the phones do not have pool access keys or direct line appearance keys on them the only way to make or receive calls is through the SA keys. In order to get the phones to ring I had to establish a night service group and add the appropriate lines and members to the group. I had to auto-enable night service with a start time of 0000 and an end time of 2359 for each day of the week to ensure that the system is always in the night service mode.
So here is the essence of my question... given that we want to use the ARS and have a mandatory DAC of 9 for all external calls, we wish to force a uniform dialing plan (10-digit dialing for all external NANP calls, and we have no centralized attendant, and we do not want pool access keys pr direct line appearances on the stations, is there a better/easier way to set this up? This works great until they really have to use night service for it's intended purpose. The idea was to make this system appear a one of their larger PBXs.
