My office has a Merlin Magix System that is in Hybrid/PBX mode. We have approximately 75 people in the office. 10 digital 4412D+ phones and 65 analog Avaya 6221's. We use to have a phone vender that could come in and change some programming when we needed to move a digital phone to a different location where an analog phone was, but he is no longer in business and now I am faced with this task. I have not issues moving the extension for an analog phone to a location where another analog phone is, or even a digtal line to where another digital line is. I need to know how to convert an analog line to digital so that the digital phones will work in that new location. Thanks for any help! Jason

You need to move the physical wiring and you'll probably need a punch tool as well. Digital phones connect to TDL modules on the system and analog phones connect to TR ports. If you are not certain about your wiring skills, you should try to find a new Magix vendor. They are out there. If you can't find a Magix vendor, a knowledgeable wiring tech should also be able to assist you in re-wiring the effected jacks.

See minor point here but I would have said affected instead of effected. Not trying to be a keystroke cop either. Just trying to get it right myself. I see it all the time on these boards mostly from the Europeans. They mostly used effected when I would have used affected.

Assist in re-wiring the affected jacks.
vs
Assist in re-wiring the effected jacks.

Again. No offense given and apologies for the hijacking.

Ok Thanks! That makes since, I was hoping it would be as simple as a programming tweak. We have 5 T/R modules and 2 TDL modules, I will just have to print out the inventory and trace down the lines.

Good. I'm glad you agree. It is just one of those things.

If you terminate your TDL ports to a cat5 panel, then do the same with your premise wiring you can use patch cables to arrange/rearrange extensions without any hassle
technically because TDL and T/R both uses 1 pair, you could use RJ11/14/22 patch panels, but cat5 panels are easier to find (and I believe all the ports on the T/R modules are 8P8C (RJ45).
