I have a Magix which can make international calls just fine but it can't make calls to England or any other counrty with a 2 digit country code.
Austrailian number 011-613-643-1-5000 works great.
British number 011-44-207-05-12928 or 011-44-845-124-9068 won't go.
Provider asys there is a "+" showing in front of the telephone numbers and is asking if I am set for E164 dialing?
Anyone know what E164 is and if it can be changed without having an effect on other numbers?
Thanks in advance.

E.164 just describes the format of the number send. One criteria is that a "+" is sent in front of the digits. Sounds like that's working. Another defines how many digits can be in the dial string alltogether (which I believe is 15). Clearly you're within the boundaries there. Are these calls going out over a PRI? I'm willing to bet they are. If so, I'd love it if you posted a printout of your ARS table.

Yes, all the calls go across a PRI. The above is the ARS printout. Thanks for your help, anything you could suggest would be great. This one has me stumped.

is there an administrative setting that allows a longer than 15 digit call setup message?

I've played around with Number Type, Operator, and Type of Number. Bone of them seemed to have an effect on the calls to England.
Thanks again for looking at this.

That's interesting. You've got the International flag bit on, yet you're able to send 011 across the PRI. Normally you send 011 as a National call or without the 011 as an International call.

Try this: Go to Tables > ARS > ARS Input > At the "Enter table number (1-24)", dial 1 and press Enter. Choose Exchange and press Enter. At the "Enter entry number (1-100)" prompt, dial 1 and press Enter. Dial 011 at the next screen and press Enter. Choose Sub A Pools and dial 11 at the "table number and route" prompt. Enter 70 for the pool dialout code.

Next go to LinesTrunks > PRI > OutgoingTbl > SpecialServ > TypeOfNumber > Enter 0 at the entry number prompt and press Enter. Select National as the type of service.

If this works for you, I'd recommend sending all N11 service number over the PRI in this manner. That is unless you've already proven those calls to route OK already.

Perhaps using the Dial 0 table and adding 011 to the dial string? 011+011+number

A TABLE 27: Dial 0 Output Table

A Pool Absorb Other Digits FRL Call type Start Pattern
A 1)70-- 00 011----------------- 3 BOTH --:-- A
A AUTOMATIC ROUTE SELECTION

Your 14 digit number works but neither of your 15 digit number work.
What does telco say you are sending?

You could use Monitor to see what digits you are sending. If-you-know-how.

Meaning that perhaps the problem is that you have programmed the Dial 0 table to add 011 to the dial string. That would give 011+011+number since you do not delete any digits in the PRI Special Service Table. Pattern 011 deletes zero digits.
I am suggesting that you remove 011 from the Dial 0 Table.

Thanks for the responses guys, but none of that worked.
Essentially, I'm sending a "+" in front of numbers dialed to country code 44 and I don't know how to get rid of it.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the "+"?

See, that's what's weird. First thing is that I don't see anything in your programming that inserts a plus. Matter of fact, I don't know that the MAGIX *can* insert a plus (experience shows that it won't insert a * either, but would instead send the rotary equivalent of 11 if need be). The other thing that's weird is that carriers kinda like the + in front of the phone number. I don't know if the telco technicians you're talking to are suggesting that this character is part of the problem, but I submit that it's not.

So where are we? Still broken?

And to help baseline the problem, it would be helpful if I knew that this problem suddenly reared it's head, followed a carrier change or some such thing. Anything you got will help.

And please do the table clean up as CarGoSki suggested...especially if you implemented my changes.

Hard to say when exactly this started -- the customer claims they (at one point) were able to call England. IDK if that's true or not, but I'm inclined to believe them.
The customer has not recently changed service providers, but that doesn't mean the customer's SP hasn't changed something within the past few months.
Ultimately, I've made every change possible in the special service tables, and changing the ARS effects all international calls... not just those to England.
The Magix has no place (that I've been able to find) where I can delete a "+".
Jenne (our distrubutor) is clueless.
I've effectively thrown it back to the provider and offered to make whatever changes they sugest (at least those the switch is capable of). If you guys think of something else, let me know but for now I'd like to thank you for all of your help.
