I have an ongoing problem with two different customers. Both have Merlin Magix systems w/ R2 software. The DLC operater position has 2 DSS adjuncts. The first DSS works just fine, the second DSS worked OK for about the first week and then the busy lamp fields died. The buttons work, but the lights will not light. I can reverse the DSS's and the problem continues but only w/ the DSS in the 2nd position. So I know the DSS is OK, I have changed the power supply 2x with NEW ones and have changed the 412TDL module and the 4424LD+, all w/ no success. It would appear to be a power related problem, but I am stumped. Has anyone else had this problem, Does anyone know how to fix it???? Thanks

Sounds like a quality control failure of the . I had a similar thing happen aobut 6 months ago, and since it was new, it was under warranty. In your case, do you get anything from a station responding test in the WinSPM? Also, just so it's asked, have you done a unit load count on that particular carrier to see if the power supply of the carrier is past max?

Quality Control failure of the ????, What part did you replace?

Sorry about that, in my case it ws the 4424 LD+, but don't rule out the 412 card either. How about the unit loads on that first carrier?

Unit load should not be a problem, 1st carrier has 3 412 modules, 800 GS/LS ID module and 100D module, 2nd carrier has 2 024TDL mods, 1-016T/R mod, 100D mod, merlin messaging and a 412TDL module. 3rd carrier has 016TR module. I have changed the 412TDL, the 4424LD+, the DSS and the external power for the 4424LD+. Other thing that concerns me is I have a second system w/ the same problem.

Also when I do a station test, it comes back showing the phone w/ both DSS's.

Did you try to swap dss cables as well as dss units.

Also what external power supply are you using?

Change it out for one of the large headset power supplies that are inline with the jack and the phone. (the big brown ones)

Make sure the DSS cables are the special blue headed ones.

Is the power supply located at the phone location or in a closet or IDF away from the phone?

DSS cables were changed, will try changing out the power supply, I am using the powers supply that came w/ the 4424LD+ set. Power supply is located at the phone set. I will try to find a larger power supply and give it a try. Thanks
