Hey guys,

Very cool forum, hope to learn a lot and contribute if I know any answers.
I am trying to work on the old phone system at my family's business. It is an old Legend with a Rev 3 processor (I know, OLD). I tried to instal a 4 port 007 card, and it boots up to green LEDs on the VM1,2&3, but at 4 it turns red and blinks in cycles of 11 or 12 flashes. The green status LED down below stays green, but didnt know what the deal is with VM4? Any ideas?

Thanks for the help....

It may be that this is a USED UNIT, and port 4 is trying to turn on/off messaging lights.

(The last port is the one that does that task)

Have you done all the other setup stuff that needs to be done to tell it that the extensions are in an integrated voice mail calling group?

One test you could do, to prove my theory, is to remove the 2 port expansion unit, and see if port 2 does that blinking.

Hi Merlinman... Very fast response. Thank you!

That is a great suggestion, I will give it a shot.

Wish me luck!

Thanks again....
Josh

Josh: If this is a used 007 MLM - I would first default it back to factory specs. You need to start with a clean slate.

Thanks TOm,

How do I default it? It is a used unit. I have been pouring over the downloaded pdf documents and I am starting to get some of it... I think. We will see if I make progress today.

Thanks,
Josh

Josh - do a search on Legend Mail or Merlin Mail default - and you should find one of my posts regarding this. The process is similar - except for the connection. For a connection to the 007 - you need a DB9 cable from your PC serial port to the DB9 connector on the 007 MLM.
