I have a Merlin Legend system that is currently at Release 2.1.

Before I go on, I have a Release 6.0 processor & PCMCIA card on the way.

Just curious if the Release 6.0 package got rid of those atrocious ringers on the MLX series phones and replaced them with the standard ringers that the ATL series phones (7300) use.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

No, Avaya did not change any software that would allow one to change the ringing tone to another phone type. The MLX series only has, what it always had...

....JIM....

If the MLX's ring tones are similar to the ones found on the Partner ETR and 4400 series sets, I've found only 2 of them to be really worth using. The others sound like they were inspired by some video game.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

That's what I figured. Rings #1 and 8 are tolerable, the other ones are just ridiculous.

Is there any way to connect a DEFINITY 8400 series phone to Legend?

I seem to recall that Merlin II had a card that allowed connection on 7400 series DEFINITY sets... Did that ever carry over to Legend?

Nope. The following phones can be connected to a Merlin Legend (depending on how the front end is carded):

Single Line Telephones
Partner Telephones (MLS, Euro I & Euro II)
Legend MLX Telephones

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

The Legend can also support Merlin Classic telephone sets.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
