Merlin FM2 Administration Mode Failure 1

I am trying to set up merlin 2 in Square system. I enter admin mode then press message then #202, however message light continues to blink and does not go to steady for me to proceed to program. Any suggestions would be helpful

Are you using a BIS-34D console?
Are you entering admin mode by:
** sliding T/P swithc to P
** touching the Conference button twice
You should see Lights flash next to Adm Tel, Adm Pool, Message, and Speaker.

When you press the Message button, the light next to it should go on steady and all flashing lights should extinquish. If this doesn't happen, try resetting your system. If that fails, you may have a defective processor.

I am using 34d, I do get steady light; however, when I enter the #202 the message light continues to flash and does NOT go to steady? I have rebooted processor, and no lines are active.

Are you then pressing "0" to select Square mode? At that point, the system should restat. From the manual:
"The message “System is Re-starting..." appears. When renumbering is complete, afier a short delay, the Lights flash next to Adm Tel, Adm Pool, Message, and Speaker."

You can then continue administration, or flip the T/P switch back to normal.

Prior to pressing "0" the message light needs to be steady. and therin lies the problem. The message light does not go to steady after pressing the "#202

Do you get two beeps after dialing #202? The manual doesn't say anything about the light going steady at this point.
