Meridian Voicemail

Hi

I have a phone that goes to voicemail - but when the user dials in to voice mail he cannot retrieve messages??

user has a diffrent extension number from DDI number - not sure how the 2 are connected and if this is the problem.

set up as below - any ideas?

What happens when they call into the pilot number of the voicemail ?

user call voice mail at 7000, at the voicemail prompt the user enters 2288 or DDI?

What is the Mermail telling the user when they put in there DID or 2288 ? Has this voice mail box ever worked and just stopped working ?

user dials voicemail and enters his extension number. But system does not ask for password, just says press # for more options. Voice mail is set up on EXT number

user did not have voicemail before - so I created a new mail box

If you built a mailbox correctly for dn 2288 then when you called the mail dn from inside or outside it would ask for password. I would double check your mailbox for that dn.

Check that the DN 2288 isn't an extension DN that belongs to another mailbox. I've been caught out with this one before!.

I can't find what the problem is i will try deleting the mail box and re creating it......... might help

Also I cant figure out how the DD numbers are 'tied' to the internal extension numbers as on this site all the DD are diffrent from the internal extensions (not sure why)

Also anyone know how i can find if the voicemail has an external number to access it - as this particular guy is getting fed up with me asking him to try his voicemail..........

look at the IDC table for the incoming to extn changes..

this will print your table you will see what numbers are being send from your carrier, in the left column and the numbers they convert to in the right hand column...

If I want to assign one of the DD numbers to the voicemail ext (7000) how would I do that - and would that allow me to access the voice mail by dialing in externally from another site?

please explain exactly what you are trying to achieve....

why do you want to go to mail ??? and not the extn first...

hi

i want to be able to test access to voice mail at a remote site. To do this I need to be able to dial in and access the voice mail on extensions from an external number not an extension. Most of our other sites have this facility, but they were set up by someone else, and I'm not sure how it was done.

On a site that has it set up - when you go in to LD 49 you can see that a DDI is pointed to the voice mail number (5000) so you can accesss it externally. But i'm not sure how to alter an existing DCNO?

first NEVER use OUT in LD 49 IDC if you do it will OUT the whole table, so first i would copy & paste your table for reference and save a copy...

to make a change
