Had a extended power outage on an Option 11c system, some universal trunk cards went bad, I replaced them and the system is working somewhat, all programming appears to be in place, (voicemail and auto-attendant work, can make and recieve calls now) but some digital stations are dead.

The problem now is that I cannot get into programming. All 3 tty ports seem to be dead. I hooked up directly to port 0 set the dip switch to 9600 set my laptop to 8 N 1 and still get nothing. I put my rs232 tester on all 3 ports and I get no led activity of any kind.

If the ports are dead, what should be replaced to get them back online?
They have a NTDK20AB SSC card with a NTSK11AG software daughterboard, and a NTDK26AA Backwards Compatability daughterboard.
Can I just get a new SSC card and move the daughterboards over to the new card? Will the programming move over to the new board if I do this?

Any help appreciated,
Thanks,
Delmar

after you check the 3 out cable for the tty's, yes you can replace the SSC card, the daughtboard does contain the database..... Have you tried to login with a maint set?

No I have never tried programming from a maint set. What do I need to do to try this? Is it from a 2250? They do have a 2250, if this is possible i would like to try it.

Thanks,
Delmar

Delmar...when you changed the trunks did the tty cable
that has tty0,tty1,tty2 come loose from the backplane
motherboard on opt11?

no problems only solutions

you need to know if a set is set up as maint set, would have the cls of MTA.... do you know what your spre code is? if not, you may neeed to INI the switch and maybe that could reset the TTY ports

Strmwalker, I did check that connection a couple of times and it seems good.

Phonz1, I checked an old capture I had of them, and they have an spre of *41 as ADMN and they have a couple of sets that have a MTA set in the CLS.

What are the steps to get into programming from one of these phones?
BTW, I did a hard reboot of system a couple of times and the ports are still dead.

Thanks,
Delmar

do you have a maintenance manual?? ( Nortel Book )?? this procedure is in the front section under "communicating with the Meridian 1".... otherwise, from a maint set press the prime dn key, enter your spre code and 91 and then ## (pound is the return key). then type commands on the key pad with alpha characters. ie: LD37 is 53 = LD and 37 ##, now you'd be in ld37. then to enable tty 0 type, 365#889#0## and then try your terminal.....

It was the SSC card. I moved the software daughterboard over to the new SSC card and installed it and the TTY ports came back online. Programming was still intact, everything is now working. Thanks for your help.
