I have a problem with a couple of phones, now they connect and reprogram themselves perfectly (at least i hope)everything working for them, but you cannot hear the dial tone. Nor speaker or handset(no dial tone). Is like some kind of mute was on? I've tried changing the handset cord as well as the RJ11 cord and nothing...Any advice,

OK All fine. You will need to press one of your line buttons or the intercomm button to get the dial tone. Using F*0 and pressing the keys on the phone will tell you which button is programed in what way regardless of labeling. In the short term I refer you to the FAQ section in this forum. Then post back.

I looked at faq and nothing. The only thing I can think of that is causing this is, there are more than one phone being disconnected and reconnected in other places. Rugs are being replaced and people are just taking there phones with them. I was told that our phones just reprogram themselves where ever they go? What is so weird is that you can call, everything turns on but "you cannot hear the dial tone" maybe that was my confussion on top. You can even dial anywhere from these phones you just cant hear anything-speaker or handset! hhmmm?

So how do you know if you can dial if you cant hear anything? What does your button programing look like?

Testing with the receptionist, she can see the phone where I'm calling from, picks up the line but I cant hear anything or she cant hear anything. To dial long distance we enter a code, then we dial out perfectly fine. I'm on my cell phone with the party I'm calling to see if my call gets through and they do, but I cannot hear anything. And there is just some phones , maybe 4 out of 32 with the problem. ???
 
That's why I'm in here, they cannot get to me until next Tuesday! Just trying to educate myself and maybe resolve this. I cannot leave them without a phone! Thanks for your time and help, J.
 
Check out thread799-468890. Sounds like the same symptoms. See what your software version is and what type on KSU

For us to help you MUST answer the questions as stated. Without doing so there is too much guess work. Wastes time.
