Meridian Option 11 Mini

Hi,

We have an old Meridian that has a couple of phones hanging off it. These phones need changes made to them but I am having a couple of issues connecting or should I say finding an IP address to connect with and more importantly what software I could use if I did get connected.

On looking around I found a PSTN for connection and when ringing the modem lights up and you get a squark out of it, all I need to know now is what software I can use to connect and any appropriate settings made for such access.... can anyone help?

If you are onsite look for a serial connection labeled TTY 1 or TTY 2. TTY 0 should be connected to the modem. Putty, SecureCRT or any terminal emulation program will work. DO you have log on credentials? User name and password??

If I was on site could I connect directly in from my laptop... If so, any special cable and settings need adjusted for access?

I have an option 11 mini beside me in my office that I sometimes "play" with. On the back at the bottom just above the Ethernet transceiver port are two connectors and you need the "COM RS232" one on the right. This port supports 3 cable outlets which are TTY 0 to TTY 2. You may also require a Null modem adapter.

Most of the time TTY 1 is programed for local terminal use with a straight thru serial connection usually 9600 (baud) 8 bit, none (no parity) and 1 stop bit.
