Hi! This may be lengthy, and please ask if you need further details..

Scenario: Meridian Opt81 (rls 6.0) has virtual trunks to an NRS that routes to another Meridian Opt 11 (rls 6.0). We have added a third party system (ShoreTel) connected to the Opt81 via QSig Trunks. The ShoreTel is hosting all mailboxes for all systems. Calls between all systems work just fine. Any phone directly connected to the Opt81 will get their lamp lit when they receive a voice message, however; when sending an MWI request to the systems that are connected through the NRS we do not see the same MWI request leave the Opt81 via the virtual trunk (SL1 format) to the NRS.

- ShoreTel to Opt81 extension MWI: MWI request sends and is received by the Opt81 and sent properly
- ShoreTel to Opt61 extension MWI: MWI request sends to the Opt81, Opt 81 does not forward MWI request to NRS, which of course is never received at the Opt61.

In the Opt81 RCAP we have QMWI configured. But since the VTRK DCH to the NRS is set to SL1, we cannot add QMWI in the RCAP.

We have tried MQC (another verion of QMWI/QMWO) with no change.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks ahead of time for any constructive remarks.

Can you post your SL1 DCH that is for your VTRK? I believe you need MWI on the RCAP of the DCH, and the IP Peer Networking book doesn't tell you explicitly to put that on there if you just follow the guide for setting up basic IP Peer Networking. But I don't see any reason why a light from Shoretel <-QSIG-> 81C <-MCDN-> 61C wouldn't work.

Are you using CDP or UDP dialing? Are you using VNR?

Just a couple thoughts:

have you tried turning on a message key at the 61 from the 81 using a set ---MIk---MCK?---if that works then it's not the programming on the VRTK route.
verify the PNI in the netdata at the 61 matches the PNI in the RDB on both sides of the rdb for vtrk.
