Hi guys and Girls

A couple of years ago I had the job of moving our phone system at work having never done anything like this before I made loads of notes of how it was wired I pre installed all the terminals and wired back to a main connector block then on the day of the move it was a plug and play event LOL.
The problem I have now is that even though there seems to be a battery it doesn't hold any back up even for a short power outage And with a office reorganisation coming up next week it would be good to sort this before everything gets wiped PS I have since lost all the old notes

The capacitor in the software cartridge is bad, you have to get a new software cartridge. There are two types of 6x16 cabinets, if your 6x16 says DS on it then you need a DS software, if it doesn't then you need a NON DS software. You might be able to find one on ebay. You will have to reprogram after replacing it if I remember correctly, it's been a while since I played with a 6x16.

Thanks for that and sorry for my lack of knowledge but is it supplied from the 240v supply

I don't remember if the cartridge can be opened without damage, or the cap value, sorry. Maybe others here can enlighten you.

Yes it can be replaced, you need soldering skills.

I think the capacitor also depends on software level, someone corrrect me if I'm wrong.
DR 1 is the cap on the 6x16 board.
DR 2 to 5 is the cap in the software cart.
