Meridian Mail

Hi,

I have got a problem with a users telephone. When dialling his extension number externally it automatically goes to meridian mail. How can I fix this.

Is this happening all the time,when user is idle or when on a call?
What do you need when caller rings in, busy tone?

When you ring the user externally say 01642 xxx 21xx then it goes straight to meridian mail you cant speak to the caller. It happens all the time even when not on a call. Thought it might be auto logon set up in meridian mail but it isnt.

Do you have access to check programming so you could print the TN details?
looks like there is a call forward set to mail.
Is there a call forward key on the phone that has been pressed?
Does it do it if rung internally?

I have access to the programming and have checked it all for the past 2 days cant find anything wrong with it. Nothing goes to mail I even deleted the mailbox and its still goes to mail externaly. So I tried deleting the DN and giving the user a new DN guess what it works really dont understand could the dn be fault it is in the number range???

check the IDC table in LD49.
Maywell be that the DDI number is not going to the Extn that you think it is.

Thats great the extension number is in ther ld 49 and it is going to 7005 how do i change it.

Not at a switch at moment but something like this:
ld 49
chg idc
(asks for list number that is in use, ie where you found that the i/c number was mapped to 7005)

put in the i/c number in the format you previously printed out(may be 4,5,6 or what ever the main exchange is sending you) then the extn number you want it to go to, no need to delete an entry just over write it

Thats great I changed it to the extension number and it is working the user answers when I ring him externally.
