Hello!

I have a Meridian Option 11c and a Meridian Mail.
I have a Company Greeting how Thru-Dial.
When a caller hear the greeting, he have three choices:
1.- Dial the extension number.
2.- Dial "0" (The call send to the Revert DN).
3.- Wait (The call send to the Revert DN).

I want to change the thru-dial for Voice Menu.
When I build the voice menu, I record the greeting and this say:

"Thank you for calling "X Company", if you know the extension, please dial it now, For human resources press 1,
for "Helpdesk", press 2, for support press 3, for quality press 4, for "X" press 5, for "Y" press 6, for "Z" press 7.

human resources (Extension Number 3025)
Helpdesk (Extension Number 3005)
support (Extension Number 3010)..
..

So, When I press 1, the call send to humand resources
When I press 2, the call send to helpdesk..
...

The problem is, when I dial the extension number like a thru-dial, this send the call to support because the choice 3 is for support and the extension number begin with 3.

I did a quick thru-dial for the choice 3, and it work, but when I just dial 3 for support this not work

do all your ext start with 3? you can't use the 1st digit of any ext number as a menu option, if you have ext 2000, 3000 and 4000 all three of those would have to point to the thru dial, left justify 1 digit.. that collect the 1 digit and reuses it for the ext number

hi John:

So, if my extension's number are 3000's, I can't use the choice "3" as a menu option.

If in my greeting I say "press three for support" and the choice three go to Quick Thru-dial and this quick thru-dial have a greeting and this greeting are suppress (Suppress prompt: YES). And the Revert DN have the extension of support.
I thought when I dial just "3" the greeting of the thru-dial will be suppress and the call go to Revert DN, but when I dial just "3" I hear the next message :
"Please enter the number of the extension you wish to dial. If you need assistance, just press zero" and then send me to the revert.

How can I do for eraser that message and the call just go to the Revert DN?

Thank you for all.

3 will work as a menu choice but the trouble is in your greeting you say "if you know your party's extension dial it now". All extensions that start with a "3" will go to the thru dial programmed for "3". any 3xxx extension could not be reached. You need to check your dialing plan or change the greeting so that it is an option to dial an extension. "If you know your parties extension press X and enter the extension number".

Here's an idea-- I use this all the time.

MS 1113000

"Thanks for calling XYZ Enterprises. You may dial your party's extension at any time. For HR, press 4. For Helpdesk, press 5. For Tech Support, press 6... Or remain on the line for assistance."

RV = ATTN

3 = TS 1123000 (See below)
4 = CL Human Resources DN
5 = CL Helpdesk DN
6 = CL Technical Support DN

Inital no resp = RV
Delayed resp = RP

TS1123000 (referenced by MS 1113000, option 3)

number of digits: 4
left pad :3

The menu will dial the TS at the entry of the fist digit (3) and then prepend "3" to the last three digit dialed after the "3" dialed during the menu.

Works like a charm.

I just noticed that my example here is exactly what JP said above.

Sorry about the double-solution post.

Hi we currently use an outside provider to queue calls before they hit our system , we also use this provider to give us voice form services for busy periods.

when the call hits our system one of our voice messages in meridian mail gives an option to press one to leave a voice message and this then calls out to the voice service provided by the operator.

Our problem is that the line provider stats for instance say that they offered 240 calls to our system and symposium says it has been offered over 1000.

I have inherited the job of looking after a system with very little relevant paperwork of the setup and am just trying to tie up the figures at the moment

Any help with explaning these numbers would be great

Thanks

point any number to a thru dial, or use the 1st digit and the left justify field to collect the digit.. so i can dial 3000 not 3 3000. the thru dial works just the opposite. if you know the ext dial 1, then you need to say enter the ext now.. depends on the number of 1 digits you have.. i don't use thru-dial, not enough voice mail ports. a mica card would handle it, the management waste big $, all 10,000 numbers are did
