An employee is retiring an her manager wants to leave her phone up and running for 90 days. He would like a recording directing the person to call a new number but he does not want to have to check for messages every day. Lets face it, even if you say "Don't leave a message we are not checking the mailbox" people still leave messages.
Does anyone know how I can do this?
Any help is appreciated.

send it to an announcement menu instead of a VM box

Another possibility would be to "always block" messages and redirect the caller to the revert DN. This would keep callers from having to hang up and dial again, but then they would still call the old number.

Out mailbox and build it as a SDN.
Send SDN to an announcement menu with a automatic call transfer to new extension.
This way they can't leave a message and they go to someone who can help till they learn the new number.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I'm still quite new at this and could not figure out how to perform any of the answers a received but I did manage to solve the issue.

Here’s what I did. I converted the mailbox in to a shared voice mailbox and had the person record her message to press 1 for Boss # 1 and press 2 for Boss #2.
Instead of going to a mailbox box I changed the EM to CL and put in the boss’ 4 digit extensions.

Thankfully, Meridian will be replaced with HMS-400 in the near future and I won’t have to work in DOS.

Once again, thanks everyone for your help. This site is great!
