I did enter a post the other day but it seems to have been dropped. My problem is : I have a meridian mail system, when a call to an ext. is not answered instead of the call going to the users voicemail it goes to the main switchboard greeting. At the end of the main greeting the caller is then connected to the original number called voicemail. I have checked the seers etc. and there is nothing down. This all began to happen when the switchboard operator changed the main greeting. I have deleted and readded the voice menu def.but it did not help. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Does this happen to ALL your users?

Have you looked in the VSDN table to make sure the VMB number isn't there and directed to your main greeting?

thread798-1261631 may help. I had a similar problem that this fixed.

It wasn't deleted, you just didn't find it.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You stated that all of this started to happen after the main greeting was changed. Is it possible that the wrong greeting was changed or multiple greeting was changed? Have you dial up PM and verified the greetings in all of the menues or looked at them all?

thanks for the info. I have verified the greetings in the menu's. In thread798-1261631 it was suggested I check for a mailbox that had admin capabilities. The sb mailbox did have it. When I checked the greeting in that mailbox it did not match the main greeting the callers are receiving, althought the main greeting was changed from that ext. I'm stuck !!

I think there is a place in a mailbox with admin capabilities where you can tell the system to play the main auto attendant greeting before you give a caller to a users vm.

Not the greeting from the mailbox.

Maybe you can try that: log into the switchboard mailbox, than do this: press 8,2,0. At this point you will be able to delete the System Greeting.

I used these steps because I had the same problem with my Call Pilot.

Thanks to all that helped. It was a system message and had nothing to do with the voice menu defenition greeting. I have since removed the admin capbility from the switchboard mailbox. THANKS AGAIN
