Meridian Mail, Enhanced Card Option (Single Card):
New (re installed) installation: mailboxes work normally, but when a voice menu tries to extend a call on the basis of CL XXXX,or, when a caller dials an extension number via thru dialer, we get the following recorded message:

"Your call cannot be completed at this time. Transferring to an attendant"

Note: the dialed dn's are valid; and the restriction/permission list (on-switch) is set to allow the transfer/call. Otherwise we'd get the recording..
"That number cannot be reached from this service.", reflecting restriction or lack of permission

So the question is: What condition in the Meridian Mail causes the recording:
"YOUR CALL CANNOT BE COMPLETED AT THIS TIME. TRANSFERRING TO AN ATTENDANT."

No Time of Day Controllers configured.

At this point I am thinking bad installation. Planning to re-install unless someone can specifically say what triggers this recording. If I knew that, then I'd have a clue as to what to correct.

so if you have the On Switch setup with your dialing plan in Voice Administration with list Name: On Switch, and the number is removed from your Restrictions code "Restriction Codes: 0 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9"

(remove 2 if your range is the 2xxx range etc)

brand new vm will default to restrict, but if you changed it already, maybe that number is in use by something else (within the VM)

the thru-dial VSDN entry will use this setting, so if you just changed the setting on the VSDN Thru dial, you still have to do the above

also try adding a permission CODE for 1 test extension, see if that works or not

I found this below that might explain your problem?.

I/C DDI CALL TO DUMMY ACD Q 1234 NCFW =MAIL 1234=TIME OF DAY CONTROL THE CUSTOMER WAS
USING IN THIS CASE CL(CALL) TO A PHANTOM DN WHICH WAS DCFW TO 001XXXXX.
CALLER GETS MAIL MESSAGE OF' UNABLE TO COMPLETE CALL TRANSFERRING TO AN ATTENDANT'
THE RESTRICTION/PERMISSION TABLES DO NOT COME IN TO PLAY BECAUSE THE CL IN MAIL DOES NOT FOLLOW THEM( THEY ARE DEFINATIVE No's PROGRAMMED BY ADMIN).
THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND TO THE MAIL CHANNELS HAVING A CLS OF SRE (BECAUSE OF TOLL FRAUD)
TWO SOLUTIONS POSSIBLE DEPENDANT ON CUSTOMER APPROVAL
1) IN MAIL SEND THE CL TO A DUMMY ACD Q NCFW TO REQUIRED No(USING ACD Q ALLOWS THE MAIL TO TRANSFER TO THE PSTN)
2) MAKE MAIL CHANNELS TLD AND CREATE AN NCOS FOR THEM EG INIT ALOW DENY 01 ALOW 01XXXX
FOR THE No,s THAT NEED TO BE DIALLED VIA MAIL

No luck. I just went ahead and reinstalled the software. Tomorrow I'll get the rest of the app and mailboxes done. I'll know then if it's fixed. If not I'll repost tomorrow.
