Hello everyone,

We are using Meridian Mail 13 (with the three cards in the cabinet). It seems to be working fine, but I've always been troubled by the logs. I keep seeing "PP_Comm: Do_PP_Audit: DSP timing loss, DSP internal timer ON, DSP: 0" in the logs. This error will come up a few times every day, often a half hour or more apart. It is most frequent during peak demand. I don't know if this is related to any other issue.

There is only one other issue that might be a problem. People occasionally tell me that someone called, left a message, but the person never received the message. I've had this complaint a few times, but I've never been able to prove that there is a fault with our equipment. I don't know if this is related or not, I just thought I would bring it up.

PBX is an Option 11 with 25.40b software.

Message notification is low priority for the system, so if something else is going on, ie all channels busy, the system would put off the message notification until a later time, this might be the issue you are seeing.

Just a thought on the errors .... Could be that you are having a loss of communications between the Mer Mail and the PBX. (AML link??)Reseating the Mermail cards may take care of the issue. A good back up to start with would be a good idea though.

I haven't tried reseating the cards, so sometime when I can take voicemail down for a few minutes, I will try that. I do have a recent full backup. Thanks for the tip, I will report my results.

Well, yesterday I shut MM down, reseated the cards, and brought it back online. I checked the logs today and I'm still getting the DSP timing loss frequently.

I forgot to mention -- I previously tried swapping the DSP cards with other working cards and the problem still appeared. Should I try swapping the power supply or processor? I don't like taking MM offline anymore than I have to, but if it could be a processor/power problem, I would be willing to try it.

Also, I replaced the hard drive in this system a few years ago just to be safe since it still had the original hard drive. I used an older (but only lightly used) IBM 4GB SCSI hard drive from an old computer.
