Hi All. I am interested in learning about the meridian system as we have a system installed here at my workplace. We use ISDN 30 and I have a M3820 sitting on my desk. I know nothing at all about the meridian box, i dont even know how to connect to it. Does anybody know of any good websites that teach the basics...for instance do you access the box through a web browser or through hyperterminal?...what is CLS? All these questions I want the answers to! many thanks. David.

Go to Global Knowledge and look at their CD courses.

try doing a search (google) for merl+nortel, your looking for input/output manual 1 of 3, for the basic commands. cls is the allow/deny statements against a set that determine it's abilities and limitations.. cls hta for example is hunting allow.. the treatment that is provided when the phone in busy.. so if cls hta and hunt is 000, lhk is 1, your on key 0, (bottom right) and another call comes in, it rings an key 1, assuming key 1 is a ringing line.. scr xxxx. there is a gui interface, otm. i don't use it, if you learn command line, otm is to slow and limited.. you can connect to the switch through hyperterm, most of us use procomm, much more powerful term emulation package.. you can do a search in this forum and find the answer to many of your basic questions
