Meridian and Loud Call Buzzer Night Mode

We just put our print shop on a Meridian and want to ring a loud buzzer with the MARP DN, but only after hours.

It looks like we will need an analog circuit to signal/trip a "normally open" contact closure to a "Closed contact" from a Bogen TAM-B or similar contact relay.

Wanted to know who else might have accomplished this, and how we would program this with our Meridian.

Thanks for reading, all responses are appreciated.

If you only want to set off a bell after hours (you'll think this is low tech) you might want to simply put the bell's power source on a timer. There are a few reasons: The timer does not require anyone to "do anything" like Forward some DN every night. It is also easy to change programming on...by any maintenance person. This solution will never be confusion to any future tech. If you rigged something that was linked to "phone system" time, then someone would forever be tweaking your system time if maintenance or testing was needed, which can lead to other problems, like message time stamps and even worse, message expiry. You'll pay a higher price for a high tech solution in the long run.

Or the console operator can press the night button after you have the nite programming completed.

Several ways to do this. Do you need it automatic or manual would help with ideas.

The printshop was coverted from a 1A2 (don't laugh!), and they were happy with a manual switch over to a "night bell" by the "*8" keystroke.

So a manual ring of a seperate analog circuit to the buzzer relay when the main DN MARP is ringing is what we need.

Any way to accomplish this through meridian programming?

You could set it up where digital and analog share the same number and put a toggle switch in the analog cct to turn it on or off if you want really low tech, but I do like the idea of a timer from GHTROUT, you could probably use a $10 christmas tree light timer from the local hardware store. (check the rating first though) as a simple on/off switch

If I did a HUNT/FDN based on hours, wouldnt that transfer the call to the analog line and stop ringing on the DN MARP?

The user would not be able to pick if its forwarded, right?

If you do decide to hunt over to the analog/ringer, you could use call pick up to get the calls on any set within the matching pick up group, anywhere in the building.
