Scenerio:
MSL-100 (Host) connecting to Meridian-1 via Universal Trunk Card.

Question:
Does a universal trunk card accept T-1 from DTCI coming from MSL-100? If so, via fiber over Optical Carrier or only copper? I need to get rid of my 4 copper lines (analog dial tone) going to the M-1 and try to replace them with fiber that's already going out there.

Any suggestions?

Universal Trunk Cards are copper only

Thanks for the reply!

Do you have a suggestion on a medium between the host and the M-1?

several ways to go, ip trunks, pri etc. the nortel does not have a direct fiber trunk interface... you can connect pri cards to a cisco router and use fiber past that..

Thanks for the input.

Would you know if this might work? We're about to test it out.

We have 2 Pairgain CAMPUS RS mux's. One will be in the host, and the other at the distant end. What will I need on the M-1 if I'm going to send a DTCI trunk over this Mux's via fiber? - Copper will be coming out of the mux at the distant end, but will I need additional cards with correct software configuration?

Thanks,
