Meridan Mail forward after 3 rings?

We have an old Meridian Option 11 system with Meridian Mail.

Some extensions always revert to voicemail after 3 rings even when voicemail is 'off'.
How can this be set on extensions that just ring continously?

Thanks
Andrew

The 2 easy solution is Set the cls to HTD and FND Hunt and Forward Denied

or

Hunt and FDN to themselves
i.e. Hunt 1234 and FDN 1234

Cheers!!

like he said, remove forward no answer. to stop hunt on busy, remove that in class

cls htd fnd

and that will normally force a phone to ring forever.. other things could be a factor

Thank you for the replies but I may have confused you.
I want to set an extension that continously rings to forward to voicemail after 3 rings rather than force a the phones to ring forever.

Thanks
Andrew

Sorry mis-understood.

I would suggest you look at one of your phones that is working the way you want it in LD 20 and change the template to match particularly the HUNT and FDN XXXX

As JohnP said there are other things that could be a factor but try the easy route first.

Cheers!!

I've noticed that CLS MWA can make a difference too. Change it to MWD and see if that helps.

MWA allows a phone to have message waiting indication turned on(aka light the light or turn on the mwk key on a set).

At the FDN prompt set that to be your VM dn(turn fna on under the CLS prompt)

At the Hunt prompt set that to the VM DN(turn hta on under the CLS prompt)

FDN XXXX (VM dn)
HUNT xxxx (VM dn)

CLS HTA FNA

That's the basics.

You also can look in LD 21 at your RDR_DATA. Check what you have for CFN0, CFN1, CFN2. The number following will indicate how many ring cycles prior to Forward No Answer/Hunt a call goes to it's destination. On the phone's TN itself, check the RCO which corresponds with the number following the CFNx (ie, CFN0 = 4, RCO 0 = 4) If you have to change one of them I'd suggest changing CFN1 or CFN2 as CFN0 is the default for the phone RCO 0.

dcrocker nailed it.. mwd/mwa is part of the vm package but does not control forward or hunt..

when you read the books.. roll is not a word.. we all use it. in the manuals, fna forward no answer and hta, hunt (busy station treatment) are not ever controled via the same prompt. your original post was just fna (forward no answer) and the fdn (forward to number) related.. either way, change one, test it, if it's still not right, post the tn, one of us will try to help

Thanks again for the additional replies.
I am off for Christmas now :)) so will have a look at the options available to me in the new year.

Will let you know how I get on.

Hello again.
I have now had a closer look at the tn print for the extension number I need to change and it seems the FDN and EFD are set to the extension number and NOT the voicemail number:

Problem extension (2606):
FTR CFW 4 FTR SCC 0206 FTR SSU 0010 FTR PHD FTR FDN 2606 FTR EFD 2606 FTR EHT 2606 FTR RDL 24 FTR CPND FTR ADL 24 DATE 7 NOV 2005

My own extension (2616) that works:
FTR CFW 4 FTR SCC 0216 FTR SSU 0010 FTR PHD FTR FDN 7000 FTR EFD 7000 FTR EHT 2616 FTR RDL 24 FTR CPND FTR ADL 24 DATE 17 OCT 2003

Can someone give me an idiots walkthrough for altering the FDN and EFD settings please?
I think I do this in LD10 but then get lost.
I load LD 10

what comes next?

Thanks
Andrew

at the ITEM prompt you type the item you wanted to change.
for example if you wanted to change a key assignment, you'd type:

(ITEM PROMPT) key 0 somethingnew

in your case you want to change FDN you type FDN 7000 or whatever DN you want.

Post the TNB of your phone, it's very hard to understand what you just posted. Your Phone and the phone that doesn't work.

You can see the different entries for the FDN and EFD fields I was trying to explain earlier.

I have tried LD 10 as jdlrez showed and get this:

As soon as I try and enter FDN 7000 for the item field I get the SCH.0101 error?

Help!

Andrew
