hi guys

we tried to do a backup on a mermail that is on an option 11c the message erro we got was

Act: Refer to the Tape Error checklist
Des: Tape 1 > sense key: 6
15-40 7/18 09:51 Admin * 1 Null
Des: Backup error. Lookup return code in NTP SEERs. for F8...x.. 1517

can you tell us what this means

It sounds like you have a bad tape/and or tape drive have you tried using a different tape?

also check and make sure you don't have the WRITE PROTECT turned on on the Tape.

try cleaning the tape drive with a tape cleaner

those are DAT tapes, manufactures state throw away after
couple hundred writes due to magnetic degration and the drives are poor quality too
