Mer Mail Term emulation 2

When entering meridian mail through the ax command i am using vt-102 as the terminal emulation and use f1-f4 as the softkeys but when i have a screen which has a fifth softkey i can't use f5 (such as FIND on the local voice user administration screen). I have tried different emulations but can't find one that will work. Does anyone know what the escape sequence is that needs to be sent?

I use Hyperterminal and a VT320 emulation. The only problem I have is that on rare occasions my printer will start up when connected and print endless trash.

You need to install HyperTerminal Private Edition. The standard edition that

comes with Windows doesn't support macros.

Once installed, do the following:

1. Menu {View}{Key Macros}
2. Button [New]
3. In the 'Key' field, just press the F5 key on your keyboard. <F5> will appear

in the box.
4. In the 'Action' field, (THIS IS IMPORTANT!!)
Press the Ins key on your keyboard
Press the Esc key on your keyboard. <ESC> will appear
Type [21~ ...... left bracket, two, one, tilde
You should now have <ESC>[21~ in the Action box
5. Button [OK][OK]
6. {File}{Save} or {SaveAs}

I use procom and I have to go to my keyboard editor and put the following on F5. Once I do this it works fine.

^[[21~

If you put that on key f5 in Procom, you should have no problem. By the way you get to the keyboard editor by hitting the alt key + F8.

Then just look at what is defined under each function key. You will find that you have nothing under f5, but do under f1-f4 by default.
