menu preview not working 1

Using VFP 7.
Does the menu preview work for anyone with the menu designer? I can't get mine to work.

Kent,

It's always worked for me, in all versions from 3.0 to 9.0.

The steps are:

- Design your menu.

- Press the Preview button.

- Ignore the MessageBox that you will see.

- Look at the top of the main VFP window. You should see your menu there.

Is that what you are doing? Which part of it doesn't work?

Now I see it.
I thought something was supposed to show in the message box based upon the prompt selected.
All it does is replace the system menu bar with the new menu bar (in grey) in the designer window, no matter what prompt is selected.

Is that right?

Yes, it's a common mistake. It's the only situation I can think of in VFP where the messagebox is not modal.
