Menu bar is not disappearing

When I uncheck 'Menu Bar' from Tools-->Customize-->Toolbar.It doesnt so. Why?
Is it possible to do so.

While in the [blue]Customize[/blue] window click [blue]Properties[/blue] . . . Do you see [blue]Allow Showing/Hiding[/blue]!
