Memory

You have "leaky" applications. They are applications that "grab ahold" of memory and dont let go, even shutting the application off may not free up RAM. The best way is to use either a Memory defrag program OR reboot the PC to free up the RAM. MS outlook is one such program. Dont know if you use it. Windows 2000 does a better job at freeing up memory than Windows9x. Though not a hole lot better.

IE 5.5 has had a lot of problems. It's been said that it's almost the same as IE 5.0 in what it does, it just doesn't do it as well. Because it's so heavily integrated with the OS, it has caused a lot of problems. My advice - stick to 5.0. Even IE6 isn't supposed to be worth it. Either switch to Netscape and unistall IE (if you can!) or revert to 5.0. I'd recommend taking the IE 5 route though, I'm a lazy surfer (and a lazy web designer! he, he! :)). If you can't switch for whatever reason, then the RAM program is really good, and there's loads out there.

Hope it helps, Good luck! ;-)
