How can I check memory without using vmstat command.

(vmstat is not in /usr/sbin or under /)

Thanks in advance

It's in /usr/bin, is it not? IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation

Thanks.

I did a find command and vmstat is not to be anywhere,

Thanks for all your help and advice. It was of very much help which I really appreciate !!!

I have another question. What is the way to get system details like cpu speed and other hardware related commands.

CPU speed is a weird nether-realm on the rs6k. There have been quite a few threads on it recently, however, just look down a few posts. Note that the rs6k chip will easily outperform a higher-clocked intel. Not sure about Sun's chips but it comes down to the system architecture.

Good old `lsdev` will get you started, as well as `lsattr -El "devicename"`. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation

FTP the ibmperftool from folloing site.

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/perftools/perfpmr

get the Zipped, tared file for your AIX versio under /tmp.
Unzip, untar and then run to get many information on your system.
