Memory Upgrade

Folks,

I need some help on doing a memory upgrade on an e420. I was wondering if anyone has any good links I can look at prior to attempting this upgrade. On this e420, we are upgrading from 2 to 4 gigs.

Sun Enterprise 420R (2 X UltraSPARC-II 450MHz)
socket U0301 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U0302 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U1301 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U1302 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U0401 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U0402 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U1401 has a 256MB DIMM
socket U1402 has a 256MB DIMM
empty sockets: U0303 U0304 U1303 U1304 U0403 U0404 U1403 U1404
total memory = 2048MB (2GB)
WARNING: Layout of memory sockets not completely recognized on this system.
The memory configuration displayed is a guess which may be incorrect.
The 2GB of memory installed may be 8 256MB DIMMs populating any 2 of
the 4 banks, or 16 128MB DIMMs populating all 4 banks.
This is a known bug due to Sun's 'prtconf' and 'prtdiag' commands not
providing enough detail for the memory layout of this
SunOS 5.8 SUNW,Ultra-80 system to be determined.
This is not a bug in memconf, rather it is a bug in Sun's OBP.
A newer version of Open Boot PROM may improve this.

what's the problem?
whether you do have 8 banks free?
or how to do the upgrade?
or what memory you should / can use?

I would open the machine and have a look
(just a thought)

Thanks Matt.

The server memory is currently insufficient and the customer has purchase memory they want installed. I'm looking for any documentation or testimonies on installing this additional memory. Any gotcha's.
