Is there a way to identify memory from the information stamped on the chips or boards...memory size, manufacturer, type, etc?
Are there good resouces on the Internet to find these answers?
Thanks!

The chips are all made by the same companies and don't tell you much. Try inputting as much info as you can find into Google and see what it does for you.

You can always download software to do this for you, sysoft Sandra can tell you the type of memory you have with other info. you can download it from downloads.com

I have used that software before and I like it. But, I found some memory in a drawer that is not installed in a machine. I just wanted to know if there was a way to tell what the memory is from the numbers.
