I have a Intel 486 w/610MB hard drive that I was asked to format for a friend. It has 4MB of ram as fas as I know and when I try to setup Win95 I get the following error:

"Not enough free Extended/XMS memory to run setup.
Setup needs approximately 2816000 bytes of free Extended/XMS memory."

I was wondering how I continue seting up Win95? Windows 95 was on it before, I do not want Win 3.11. Thanks for any help! :)

Can I suggest getting more ram win95 will be a pig on that little.

Whereas dos/wfw 3.11 and ,if you like the win95 look, the calmira shell would run real well. Trust me.
